Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Management

The RAP Foundation and Center For Nonprofit Advancement Offer a Scholarship for This UCR Extension Program. 

WHO THIS IS FOR

This unique program is designed for leaders in the nonprofit sector as well as those are who are just starting their journey in the nonprofit space. 

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

You'll gain a unique overview of the various roles and responsibilities for nonprofit leaders. Learn more about budgets, legal issues and requirements, and more.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Many positions are available in all over the world and can be found in government, volunteer or nonprofit organizations. This program will make sure you are ready!

Application and Scholarship Details

Cohort (Palm Desert)
The 2019-2020 cohort runs from September 6, 2019- May 29, 2020.
Classes take place on Friday afternoons from 1:00-5:00p.m.

Scholarships are available for this cohort though funding provided by the Regional Access Project (RAP) Foundation's Center for Nonprofit Advancement (CNA). Individuals must apply for and be accepted into the certificate program in order to apply for the scholarship. Deadline for submitting the RAP scholarship application is August 23, 2019. Parking is included in the cost of the tuition.

The cost to complete this program is approximately $3,000; you (or your organization/employer) are responsible for $500 of the tuition, due upon acceptance to the program ($100 for each course, plus the cost of books), and the remaining amount will be covered by the Regional Access Project Foundation’s Center for Non Profit Advancement (CNA) as a scholarship award. In the event that you are unable to complete the program, you (or your organization) will be responsible for reimbursing the CNA program for the tuition.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THIS PARTIAL AWARD:
Be able to verify that you live or work in the Coachella Valley and are a paid or unpaid staff member for a Nonprofit or Community Based Organization in Eastern Riverside County.

Complete this application form and submit it online.

Attach the following documents to your application:

Current résumé or CV
Self-statement – one page, typed, single - spaced essay that addresses: why you want to earn a Nonprofit Management Certificate; how you will benefit from this program; if you are employed or volunteer for an organization, what type of organization is it and how will the organization benefit from this program.
Professional reference – a letter of recommendation from an employer, a supervisor, or a faculty member.
Letter of Approval from your Executive Director or Board Chair
